LEGO 71049 F1 Collectible Race Cars are out early
LEGO 71049 F1 Collectible Race cars have started appearing in stores worldwide more than a week before their official release date.
Originally scheduled to be out on May 1, there were scattered reports of retailers in the United States stocking the blind boxes in mid-April. Now there are cases of stores in the UK and Europe putting them on sale as well.
The 12 cars – one each from 10 F1 teams as well as a generically-branded F1 car and a car for the F1 Academy – retail for £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 and follow recent Collectible Minifigure series by coming in blind box packaging.
That means F1 fans won’t know which car is in the box until they open it – unless they use Brick Search’s minifigure box scanner first. By reading the codes on the bottom of the box, Brick Search can identify which car is inside, allowing Collectible hunters to only buy the cars they want.
Brick Search has sourced codes on boxes produced in North America and is working on getting more, including for those on sale in the UK and Europe. Past CMF series have had different codes depending on where the boxes were produced and that is expected to be the case again this time.
If you can get your hands on 71049 F1 Collectible Race Cars at this early stage and want to help your fellow LEGO fan then please get in touch with Brick Search. Pictures of the codes on the bottom of the box would be particularly useful.
Likewise, if you use Brick Search to scan 71049 boxes and don’t get the results you’re expecting, please get in touch. You might have found an entirely new set of codes that can be added to the app’s database.
Brick Search is available for both iOS and Android devices. Brick Search Plus members get unlimited use of the minifigure box scanner to aide their hunt for the F1 Collectible Race Cars they want. A Brick Search Plus membership is £1.99 / $2.99 per month or £19.99/ $29.99 per year and a yearly membership also provides access to the Brick Search Plus newsletter and Discord server.

Weve managed to get 7 in our local morrisons in Devon. Although the pink and purple car pictured above has 2 codes??!! We thought we got 8 diffrent ones as no code was the same and still managed a double. When we used the brick search app there was indeed 2 codes for said car! Annoying
Where in the UK have they been spotted?
Select Morrisons stores, seems to be the larger ones at the moment. Let us know if you spot any!
