First look at LEGO Nike Air Max DN sneakers
Images of the first LEGO x Nike sneakers have surfaced online, revealing a brightly-coloured pair of Air Max DNs decorated with LEGO symbols and logos.
Following the LEGO Group’s collaboration with Adidas in 2021, it’s now teaming up with Nike for a multi-year global partnership that will apparently span products, content and experiences. The first results of that joint venture are these vivid yellow LEGO x Nike Air Max DNs, unveiled by The Game Collective over on Instagram (h/t Hoth Bricks).
Beyond the obvious references to the LEGO Group through the primary colourway and the stud pattern across the shoe, you’ll find a mix of subtle and overt nods to the Danish company here.
The LEGO logo sits proudly on the tongue, while another logo combining Nike’s swoosh with a LEGO brick can be spotted beneath the tongue and on the back of each shoe. The air bubbles that sit along the rear of the shoe also feature a LEGO stud and minifigure head, and – mysteriously – a four-eyed alien creature.
There’s been a bit more thought put into the packaging of the Air Max DNs from a LEGO perspective, too: the shoebox includes a handful of cardboard inserts that can be used to partition the space inside, allowing you to use it as storage for LEGO elements. That’s perhaps the biggest hint yet to LEGO-first Nike products coming somewhere down the line, though we’ve had no official confirmation either way on those yet.
These Air Max DNs will reportedly retail for $160 in the US when they launch in August. And with one eye on the promised scale of the LEGO Group and Nike’s partnership, they likely won’t be the last LEGO-branded sneakers we see over the next few months and years.
